Canine Hindlimb Muscles in 3D, Sorted by Innervation

Here's a quick look at our canine hindlimb musculature. 💪🏼 The point of this content is to give you an understanding of the origins, insertions and relations of the different muscles of the dog hindlimb.

The usual controls

All the usual controls apply. Click a muscle to get information about it, and hide muscles using the menu on the right or the H key.

Sort muscles by their nerve supply

We've also added the ability to separate the muscles by their innervation. For instance, you can bring up just the muscles innervated by the sciatic nerve or the obturator nerve. It's a really useful way to think when you're working out which muscles a nerve injury will affect, and it pairs nicely with the same feature in our canine forelimb muscles.

The canine stifle too

This content also includes the canine stifle, so you can interact with it and start to understand its different anatomical areas.
