Canine Vestibule and Vulva in 3D: Master Female Catheterisation
We've just released some very simple but very cool 3D content: the vestibule and vulva of the canine. 🐶 Understanding this region is critical in practice, because at some point you're going to need to catheterise the urethra of a female dog, and that's really tricky unless you know the anatomy.
Meet the fossa clitoridis
There are a few places you can trip up. The main ones are the fossa clitoridis, which has the potential to be your nemesis, and the grooves either side of the urethral tubercle. If you aren't aware of them, you (and your patient) are in for a world of frustration. A simple understanding of their existence will go a long way to conquering them, and we hope this content saves you a lot of grief with this procedure.
Where to find it
It's under Canine abdomen, in the usual place on ivalalearn.com, and under the 3D content on vin.com.
