Equine Full Body Musculature in 3D, Trunk and Spine Included
We're chuffed to release the full musculature of the equine. 🐎 Last June we released the whole body musculature of the canine, and it quickly became our most popular content, so the horse was next in line.
Every muscle, in one go
It works in a similar way to the canine version. Every muscle on the body is selectable and hideable, so you can strip all the way down to the skeleton and then bring everything back. We had some of these muscles before with a regional focus on the forelimb and hindlimb, but two areas we didn't have at all were the muscles of the trunk and the spine. Like the canine model, we think it's the first of its kind to achieve such anatomical fidelity. 🏆
Why it's a beta
With such a complex model, we're sure there are a few things that can be improved, particularly around the origins, insertions and overall structure of some muscles. We think it's already highly accurate and valuable as it is, so we'd rather you learn from it now while our anatomists give it a once-over. 🧐 A *nota bene*: we haven't worked on the colours yet (tendons and muscles aren't the same colour in real life!). If you spot anything, let us know with the feedback button in the 3D content.
Where to find it
It's in the top level menu under Equine > Equine full body musculature. On VIN, it's in the Anatomy Viewer via Library > Learn Anatomy in 3D.
