Canine Forelimb Muscles in 3D: Origins, Insertions and Innervation

Here's a very quick walkthrough of our canine forelimb musculature. 🐾 The point of this scene is to help you understand the origins, insertions and relations of all the major muscles of the dog forelimb.

Interact in the usual way

All the usual controls apply. Left click a muscle to bring up information about it, and use the H key or the menu on the right to hide individual elements in the scene.

Sort muscles by their innervation

We've also added the ability to sort the musculature by its nerve supply. Choose a nerve and you see just the muscles it innervates, for instance the nerve supplying the flexors of the limb. It's a really useful way to think about the forelimb, because when you're assessing a nerve injury, the question you're asking is exactly which muscles have lost their supply.

Give it a try

We hope that gives you an idea of how to interact with it. Have a play and let us know what you think.
