Neurology Case Videos: Abnormal Gaits Flashcard Deck
Neurology is one of those topics that people find quite tricky, and one of the best ways to build confidence is to see as many real cases as possible. To that end, we've released a new flashcard deck of neurology case videos, focusing on abnormal gaits. 🧠
Watch, think, localise
On each case you're shown one or more videos and asked to think about what you're seeing and what it means neurologically. How would you assess this patient? What workup would you want to do? Could you localise the lesion just from the videos? Further cards add more history and help guide you through the case.
In the video, for example, we meet a 12-year-old spayed female Shepherd mix with an abnormal gait. You're asked to describe the gait and give a neuroanatomical localisation, and the answer talks through a two-engine gait and a likely localisation to C6 to T2.
52 real cases
There are 52 cases in the deck, all made from real cases. If you're a VIN member, you can also access the original case data, including all the original videos, photos and discussion.
Where to find it
On IVALA Learn, scroll down the Library page to the multiple choice questions or flashcard courses, or use the What's new box. On VIN, students can open the flashcards tile in the Student Center, and everyone can find the IVALA flashcards under Library > Multimedia. It's all the same material on both sites.
